Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, activating, or using SteerWP or by purchasing a license from us, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using SteerWP on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on that business’s behalf. If you do not agree, do not use SteerWP.

2. Definitions

• “SteerWP”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Websyy Tech Solution, the operator of the SteerWP product and steerwp.com website.
• “You” and “your” mean the individual or business using SteerWP under these terms.
• “Plugin” means the SteerWP WordPress plugin and any add-ons, whether free or paid.
• “License” means the right to use the paid version of the Plugin as described in these terms and on the Pricing page.
• “Client Sites” means the WordPress sites you connect to and manage using the Plugin.

3. Your account

Some parts of SteerWP require an account with us or with our checkout partner Freemius. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for any activity that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@steerwp.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. License grant

Subject to your compliance with these terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, worldwide license to install and use the Plugin during the term of your license.

Lifetime licenses

A Lifetime license, purchased while lifetime pricing is available and subject to the 200-license cap, entitles you to use the Plugin and all included add-ons on unlimited Client Sites indefinitely, including add-ons we release during the first year after your purchase. Lifetime licenses do not expire and do not require renewal.

Annual licenses

Annual licenses are valid for twelve months from the date of purchase and must be renewed to continue receiving updates and support. Your Plugin will continue to function after expiry, but new updates, security patches, and support access will stop until renewed.

5. Permitted use

• Install and use the Plugin on unlimited Client Sites belonging to you or to your clients where you provide management services.
• White-label the Plugin under your agency branding, as allowed by the White Label feature.
• Use the Plugin’s output (such as PDF reports and proposals) commercially in your business.

6. Prohibited use

You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:

• Copy, redistribute, resell, or sublicense the Plugin or any of its add-ons to third parties as a standalone product;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of any part of the Plugin except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
• Remove, obscure, or alter our copyright, licensing, or attribution notices, other than through the White Label feature within its intended scope;
• Share your license key or use one license across multiple separate businesses;
• Use the Plugin to violate any law, infringe intellectual property rights, or transmit malicious code;
• Use the Plugin in a way that harms our systems, licensing infrastructure, or other users.

7. Payment, pricing, and taxes

All payments are processed by Freemius, our checkout and licensing partner. Prices are shown on the Pricing page and at checkout, in the currency displayed. Applicable taxes such as VAT or GST are calculated and added at checkout based on your location. Freemius issues an invoice on our behalf at the time of purchase.

Annual licenses renew automatically at the price listed at checkout unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel renewals from your Freemius customer account. Lifetime licenses are one-time purchases with no renewal.

8. Refund policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on paid licenses. If SteerWP does not fit your workflow within the first 30 days of purchase, email hello@steerwp.com and we will process a full refund with no questions asked. Refunds are not available after the 30-day window has passed, and are not available for renewals of annual licenses beyond the first 30 days of the renewal term. Chargebacks initiated without contacting us first may result in immediate termination of your license.

9. Free plugin and paid add-ons

The free version of SteerWP is available on WordPress.org under the GPL v2 or later license, in accordance with WordPress.org repository requirements. You may use the free plugin under the terms of the GPL.

Paid add-ons and premium features are proprietary components licensed under these Terms of Service, not the GPL. Your right to use them depends on holding a valid, active license.

10. Updates and future add-ons

We may release updates, bug fixes, security patches, and new features from time to time. While your license is active, updates are delivered through the Plugin’s built-in update mechanism.

Lifetime license holders receive every new add-on we release during the first twelve months following their purchase. After that first year, additional new add-ons released may be offered separately; the existing add-ons and any updates to them remain included.

We may also, at our discretion, discontinue features or add-ons that are no longer viable. Where possible we will provide reasonable notice and a migration path.

11. Support scope

Paid license holders receive priority email support from the team that builds SteerWP. Support covers:

• Installation, activation, and licensing issues;
• Bugs and unexpected Plugin behaviour on standard WordPress hosting environments;
• Guidance on using existing Plugin features.

Support does not include custom development, third-party plugin conflicts we cannot reproduce, server configuration on your hosting, or debugging your custom code. The in-plugin Knowledge Base covers most common questions, and email support is the escalation path.

12. Your role and client data

The Plugin runs on your servers and connects to Client Sites you control. You are solely responsible for the data on those sites, including backups, proposals, reports, and any personal data belonging to your clients or their end users. If you are subject to GDPR, DPDP, or similar laws, you are the data controller for that data.

Websyy Tech Solution acts only as a technical processor for the limited license and telemetry data described in our Privacy Policy. A Data Processing Agreement covering the license-related processing is available on request.

13. Intellectual property

All rights, title, and interest in the paid components of the Plugin, the SteerWP brand, logo, and steerwp.com website content are owned by Websyy Tech Solution or its licensors, except for the free plugin components which are licensed under the GPL. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

Any content you generate using the Plugin (proposals, reports, exports, published posts) belongs to you.

14. Third-party services

SteerWP relies on third-party services to operate, including but not limited to Freemius (licensing and checkout), Brevo (transactional email), Google Analytics, and cloud storage providers you connect to for backups (such as Amazon S3, Google Drive, Dropbox). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services.

15. Warranties and disclaimers

We provide SteerWP “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Plugin will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that defects will be corrected within any specific timeframe. You are responsible for maintaining independent backups of your data.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Websyy Tech Solution, its owners, employees, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Plugin, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these terms or your use of the Plugin, whether in contract, tort, or any other legal theory, will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Plugin in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars ($50).

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Websyy Tech Solution and its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Plugin in violation of these terms, your violation of any law, or your violation of the rights of any third party (including your clients or their end users).

18. Termination

You may stop using the Plugin at any time. Cancelling an annual license stops future renewals; you continue to have license access until the end of your current term.

We may suspend or terminate your license immediately, without refund, if you materially breach these terms, including by violating the Prohibited Use clause. On termination, your right to use the paid features stops. The free plugin components remain available under their GPL license. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

19. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these terms or your use of the Plugin will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New Delhi, India.

Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at hello@steerwp.com and give us at least 30 days to attempt to resolve the matter in good faith.

20. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time as the product, our business, or applicable law evolves. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify active license holders by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Plugin after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with a change, your remedy is to stop using the Plugin and request a refund if you are within the 30-day refund window.

21. Miscellaneous

• Entire agreement: these terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any order-specific terms shown at checkout, form the entire agreement between you and us regarding SteerWP.
• Severability: if any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
• No waiver: our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
• Assignment: you may not assign or transfer these terms without our written consent. We may assign these terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all our assets.
• Force majeure: neither party is liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
